Wishing The Litas Plymouth babes a very happy 1st anniversary. You ladies are frickin awesome!
A year ago today Josie Sloan founded The Litas Plymouth (formally Plymouth Birds on Bikes).
I joined the group after moving from Cornwall to Plymouth shortly after. Truth be told, I was nervous meeting up with an already established group, especially just ladies! But from the 1st time I pulled up on my bike, we instantly clicked. Our 1st ride together was to Kynance Cove in Cornwall:
I don’t know what I was expecting but definitely not such a diverse group of people from teachers and nurses to security guards and pub managers all riding different bikes to get on as well as we all did. But that was the exact reason why Jessica Haggett setup this worldwide network; ‘When you join The Litas, you will form friendships with people you would have never met otherwise, and we think that is a beautiful thing’ The Litas. I have since come to know some of these ladies like family and we have had some awesome adventures together. What an incredible year!
To celebrate our 1 year anniversary what better than a ride into the heart of Wales before heading up to Wrexham to try and break the record for the worlds largest all female biker meet this weekend. Absolutely stoked and proud to be part of such a great group of incredible ladies.
Wherever you are in the world and whatever you ride ladies, if you’re interested in finding out about a Litas branch near you, check out on their website here
Watch this space for our Wales adventure and whether or not the world record of 1132 ladies bikers can be beat!
